Innovation is everywhere. Beauty and fashion are my two biggest inspirations in life so here are four of my favorite innovative products and things that everyone should know about.
1. OUAI Dry Shampoo Foam
This product is placed first because it is my favorite product out there with the best concept behind it. OUAI haircare by celebrity hairstylist has some of the best (and aesthetically pleasing) products on the market. The OUAI Dry Shampoo Foam was created when Jen Atkin was inspired by how nurses clean patients hair when they are unable to shower...with foam! This lead Jen Atkin to create this genius product. Dispense the foam into your hand, apply to your dry roots, mix in, allow the product to go from “wet to dry” and ta-da! Clean, voluminous hair.
TIP: after working product into your hair, use your blow dryer on your hair to create more volume and longevity to your style.
2. FENTY BEAUTY Pro Filtr Foundation and Instant Retouch concealer.
Being a makeup artist, I know how crucial it is for your foundation to match your skin, and so doesn’t Rihanna. The fact that is it a foundation does not make it innovative, however what does make it innovative is its vast shade range. During their first launch, Fenty Beauty released a range of 40 shades. Fast forwarding to now, FB added 10 more shades plus 40 new shades of concealer and 8 shades of setting powder to finish off your look. Most makeup brands do not offer this wide of a range of foundation, and especially concealer for darker skin tones and Rihanna has revolutionized the standard. Now, many brands have expanded their lines after the releases noticeable success.
3. PAT MCGRATH LABS SKIN FETISH 003:
Along with e v e r y t h i n g else Pat McGrath creates, this product is GOLD. As Pat would say, “It’s simply MAJOR, dahling.” PMG Labs Skin Fetish 003 mimics your own skins “natural glow” The kit features a dual ended stick, one with a clear balm that makes your skin glossy AF, and a cream highlighter attached to the other end. An opal powder highlight is also included to amp up your dewy highlight or simply wear alone to show off your iridescent glow. This product is so innovative because no highlight does what this one does. It also has three products in one kit that all work just as good solo as they do combined. Pat McGrath created luxury in a highlight with this gem.
4. IRIS VAN HERPEN SPRING 2019 COLLECTION:
The moment I laid eyes on this collection I fell in love. I feel as though fashion has gotten so monotone and repetitious with designers being hesitant to take risks. Iris Van Herpen's collection brought a huge sense of innovation to the fashion world. The collection featured intricate lines that made the fabric of the garments look almost animated and 3D. The movement of the garment was just as interesting as the creations themselves. I am sure many people have different opinions on this collection but I found it fresh and especially innovative. I hope more new and shocking designs like these are coming during this upcoming fashion month.
