Retro Revival

For a class assignment we were asked to create a retro themed mood board. Retro fashion can be related to any decade, however the decades I choose to focus on were from the 40's- 70's. While choosing the images for my mood board I wanted to illustrate where my I draw inspiration when it comes to my personal style and makeup aesthetic. I admire the 40's and 50's for their glamour and elegance. The iconic cat eye on Sofia Loren, to the rich and luxurious vibe of the women in the top middle. The 70's is where I find most of my inspiration. Eyes are my favorite thing to accentuate while doing makeup. Twiggy's eyes were a perfect example of that as well as the rounded glasses in the upper right featuring big blue painted eyes and bold lashes. The effortless style of the 70's is something I admire, such as the feathered hair featured on Stevie Nicks. The bottom middle photos of Brigitte Bardot and a woman in the 70's illustrate my personal style. I love the bombshell look Brigitte Bardot is known for as well as the mod outfit being sported to the left of her.
