If you love Rihanna, you'll love Fenty Beauty (and their social media team).

Celebrities have been creating their own makeup lines for years now. Most of the time their only involvement is merely putting their name on the packaging. Currently, the most talked about celebrity makeup brands are Kylie Cosmetics, KKW

Beauty (Kim Kardashian West’s makeup brand) and Fenty Beauty by Rihanna. Kylie Jenner posts pictures of her at her makeup labs in a crisp white lab coat and hair net posing with a lip kit in hand next to a machine with workers shown in the background. However, on Fenty Beauty’s website when the brand first launched, showed a video of Rihanna sitting down with a panel of people, with no makeup, working hands on creating her product and sharing her ideas. This shows how much more effort and involvement Rihanna has with her brand and consumers love the genuine vibe Fenty Beauty is known for. Fenty Beauty is also known for their genius marketing strategies using social media.

Considering the many different social media platforms we have access to, they all have different purposes, therefore we all have different personalities on different platforms. For example what you retweet on Twitter might not be something you would want to share on Facebook. Fenty Beauty has taken full advantage of every platform that is out there.

First of all, Fenty beauty is basically known for their Twitter account. Twitter is all about humour and memes dominate almost everyone's timeline. Fenty Beauty tweets, retweets and quote tweets multiple times a day which helps them stay relevant. They create their own memes and do an incredible job reaching my generation and relating to us, as well as constantly keep us entertained. Not only does Fenty Beauty’s Twitter make us laugh but they are very interactive with their followers. Every Friday, Fenty trends the hashtag #FentyFaceFriday where they retweet and compliment Fenty beauty lovers using their products. Being interactive with your followers is crucial in keeping your fans and consumers interested and more importantly it starts to create a trust and a meaningful relationship between your brand and consumer.

Instagram influencers, unfortunately, are all the rage right now. Although, Fenty Beauty is one of the first celebrity brands to use makeup artists educate consumers about the product, rather than the celebrity showcase it, they take full advantage of the benefits influencers can have on your brand. Fenty Beauty’s Instagram ha sposts featuring their products and new launches, must a majority of the posts are pictures and videos of influencers using Fenty Beauty. This helps target younger generations who idolize influencers as well as my generation. Fenty Beauty does a great job of using makeup artists and influencers to promote their brand and I feel like this sets them apart from many other makeup brands.

Youtube is nother huge platform many brands use to promote themselves and their product. Like I have mentioned before, Fenty Beauty has 3 global makeup ambassadors who represent the brand, create the looks for the product shoots, educate the consumer on how the product works, how to apply it and special tips that they've acquired throughout the years. Not many brands use makeup artists to promote their product but I think they should. Being a makeup artist, I know certain tricks that make makeup application much easier and from working with a range of different products I know how they all work and the exact way to use them. On Fenty Beauty’s Youtube page there are a majority of tutorials done by their global makeup artists and a weekly tutorial from Rihanna herself which her fans (and I) love because of her bubbly and very funny personality. This just makes Fenty Beauty look much more professional and unique than other brands.

Facebook is the hardest social media platform for most makeup brands to use mainly because of the tone Facebook has. Many people scrolling through Facebook want to watch food videos, or those weird videos you only find on Facebook, or just look at a quick picture or a small post. Fenty Beauty’s Facebook consists of promotional pictures of products and new launches, quick product videos and tutorials and very short posts. Basically what everyone wants to see on their Facebook feed.

Not only has Fenty Beauty dominated social media but their products have heavily impacted the makeup industry as well. The marketing team over at Fenty Beauty has studied each and every platform and used it to their advantage successfully every single time. I can’t wait to see what Fenty Beauty ends up doing next on social media.
